Hollywood, Like Government, Has Forgotten Its Place!

If you refuse to watch, yet another, conservative bashing, congratulatory award program showcasing the self-absorbed, ultra rich in Hollywood, then you didn’t miss much by not tuning into the Golden Globes.  Although it was tough to decide who was the most inappropriate self-centered idiot of the night, the “snob” award of the evening goes to Meryl Streep. It appears as Ms. Streep along with Hollywood and our government of late, have forgotten their place.

You and all of us in this room, really, belong to the most vilified segments in American society right now. Hollywood, foreigners, and the press….. Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. If you kick ’em all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”- Meryl Streep

I think Meryl Streep and many of the so-called actors in Hollywood are a little full of themselves. They have truly gotten a little big for their own britches as well as the ones given to them by the costume department. Do they really believe that if Hollywood stopped acting, the whole world would fall apart and die in pure misery having nothing to bring true meaning into their empty lives without movies like, A Bullet to the Head, Scarface, Django, and The Devil Wears Prada?  I think that bigger names than Streep might disagree with the premise that Hollywood is the only source of true art in the world…..Rembrandt, van Gough, Monet, Mozart, Beethoven and yes, even Bruce Lee are probably rolling over in their graves at this very moment.

“And this instinct to humiliate, when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.”- Meryl Streep

Where has she been the last eight years while Obama has done nothing but demean and disrespect every American who has differences of opinion regarding his policies? Does she not see the irony in this statement? Is she not using her platform to demean and disrespect the president-elect and the American people who voted for him? Does she really believe that the senseless violent movies that come out of Hollywood have not incited their own amount of violence on our streets and in our communities?  This is the same hypocrisy that produces videos and tv appearances, ad nauseum, to tell the public that we must support gun control. All while they go to the bank cashing their million dollar checks protected by armed guards while making movies that senselessly kill, maim and destroy through the very gun violence they claim their principles force them to scorn? I guess principles are easily forgotten when money and fame are the alternatives.

“We need the principled press to hold power to account, to call them on the carpet for every outrage. That’s why our founders enshrined the press and its freedoms in our constitution.”- Meryl Streep

Our founding fathers, yet another group of folks rolling over in their graves because of the lies and disregard for their vision by the liberal left. The “principled” press? We all watched as the so-called principled press lied, cheated, deleted and mislead the American people during the entire election process and the Obama presidency. Obviously learning nothing from their lack of journalistic practices, we watch today as they continue to misrepresent the truth in order to protect the agenda they are all determined to fulfill.

I recently read a letter written by Nigel Bennett, @ncb58 on twitter, that says it best.

“You exist for my entertainment. Some of you are great eye candy. Some of you can deliver a line with such conviction that you bring tears to my eyes. Some of you  can scare the crap out of me. Others make me laugh. but you all have one thing in common, you only have a place in my world to entertain me. That’s it. You make your living pretending to be someone else. Playing dress up like a 6-year-old. You live in a make-believe world in front of a camera and often when you are away from one too. Your entire existence depends on my patronage. I’ll crank the organ grinder, you dance. I don’t really care where you stand on issues.

Honestly, your stance matters far less to me than that of my neighbor. You see, you aren’t real. I turn off my TV or shut down my computer and you cease to exist in my world. Once I am done with you, I can put you back in your little box until I want you to entertain me again. I don’t care that you don’t like Mr. Trump. But I bet you looked cute saying it. Get back into your bubble. I’ll let you know when I’m in the mood for something blue and shiny.

And am I also supposed to care that you will leave this great country [when] Trump becomes president? Ha. Please don’t forget to close the door behind you. We’d like to reserve your seat for someone who loves this country and really wants to be here. Make me laugh, or cry. Scare me. But realize that the only words of yours that matter are scripted. I might agree with some of you from time to time, but it doesn’t matter. In my world, you exist solely for my entertainment.”

I think Meryl Streep and all of Hollywood need to remember just one thing. Without we the people paying for those movie tickets, their industry will not and can not survive! I think that Hollywood, like government, has forgotten its place.

Pedophiles Off The Hook?

smile29 website

In this day and age of social media and technology, we have all been made more aware of sexual predators and their actions than ever before.  The question remains, do we still believe that sex with children is a crime, or are we now giving a pass to pedophiles in the name of sexual freedom?

Recently, all over the news and social media, ad nauseam, has been the story of the Duggars.  This was a case of sexual abuse of 5 underage victims by Josh Duggar, when he was a teenager.  The press had no issues with the questionable release of information about the victims even though they were under age at the time of the offense.  But what does it matter if the press humiliates a child victim of sexual abuse as long as they get their story and in the process are able to discredit Christians? Who is protecting the rights of the victims?

I guess the real question would be why they celebrate some pedophiles and condemn others?  Does it depend on the political party or the religious affiliation with whom  the offender or the victim identifies?  Is it just an opportunity to trash someone who believes differently or is it really about the atrocity of the crime itself? Has the tragedy of sexual abuse really come down to politics?  Can we so flippantly disregard the privacy, rights and the feelings of victims in lieu of the fame and fortune of the media?  Can we really so flippantly disregard the privacy, rights and feelings of victims for political gain?

Who is Lena Dunham? She is an actress on the show “Girls,” and she just released a new book, which I will not name for fear of promoting anyone who victimizes a child.  Hollywood and the liberal media have celebrated her and her new book. In her own words,

“One day, as I sat in our driveway in Long Island playing with blocks and buckets, my curiosity got the best of me. Grace was sitting up, babbling and smiling, and I leaned down between her legs and carefully spread open her vagina.”

“Three pieces of candy if I could kiss her on the lips for five seconds. Whatever she wanted to watch on TV if she would just ‘relax on me.’ Basically, anything a sexual predator might do to woo a small suburban girl I was trying.”

Does she deserve fame and fortune for her actions of sexual gratification regarding her own sister while the Duggars, have been crucified for their son’s actions? Could it have anything to do with the fact that the Duggars are Christians? What has our society come to when people are no longer outraged at the sexual abuse of a child in any and all circumstances?

The Gawker released an article by Noel Shepard titled, “Pedophilia is a Sexual Orientation.” The following headline actually appeared at Gawker: “Born This Way: Sympathy and Science for Those Who Want to Have Sex with Children.”

The first thing we have to notice is his reference to “sex” with children and not classifying it as “rape.” He speaks about research  done, that in his opinion, proves that anyone with a sexual attraction to children is wired to feel that way. He compares pedophilia to homosexuality or heterosexuality. Through this reasoning, he asks the question,

“And if pedophilia is a sexual orientation, that also means it’s futile to send pedophiles to prison in an effort to alter their attractions.”

If I am not mistaken, a prison term for sexually abusing a child is a punishment for your actions.  Rehabilitation occurs while you are serving your time.  Is he reasoning that if pedophilia is actually a sexual orientation that their crimes should not be punished with a prison term? Is he reasoning that because sexual predators are treated so badly in prison for their horrific actions towards children that they should not be sent to prison? If this is his argument, then how do we come to terms with how badly the pedophile treated the child they molested? How do we come to terms that we are supposed to feel bad for the pedophile and ignore the lifetime effects that the child they abused will be forced to endure? Are we supposed to excuse the actions of a pedophile while ignoring the consequences suffered by their victims?

Are we to accept, because science says that a sexual deviant’s behavior is hard wired, that we as a society should accept their actions with open arms and accommodate their behavior regardless of the damage it places on the rest of society?

In April of this year, a California Superior Judge, M. Marc Kelly reduced a 25 year mandatory sentence for a man who sexually assaulted a 3 year old girl to 10 years. Kevin Jones Rojano was playing video games when he decided to sexually assault  3 year old girl and covered her mouth so no one could hear her screams. In response the judge said,

“However, in looking at the facts of Mr. Rojano’s case, the manner in which this offense was committed is not typical of a predatory, violent brutal sodomy of a child case,” Kelly said. “Mr. Roiano did not seek out or stalk (the victim). He was playing video games and she wandered into the garage. He inexplicably became sexually aroused but did not appear to consciously intend to harm (the victim) when he sexually assaulted her.”

“Although serious and despicable, this does not compare to a situation where a pedophilic child predator preys on an innocent child,” Kelly said. “There was no violence or callous disregard for (the victim’s) well-being.”

The judge then pointed to a doctor’s report who said,

“Mr. Rojano was born into and raised in a dysfunctional environment…. “a great deal of family disruption and abuse, making him an insecure, socially withdrawn, timid, and extremely immature young man with limited self-esteem.”

So, we should all excuse the behavior of a pedophile because he had a bad childhood? The judge believes this pedophile did nothing that could be called violent or callous disregard for the child’s well being?  Okay, my response is about to get graphic, but it seems that now a days, the only way to get attention is to be graphic. So here goes……By his reasoning, a pedophile has not hurt a 3 year old child by shoving his erect penis into her small anus all while placing his hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming? When did we, as a society lose all our common sense and dignity? When, as a society did we decide that the life of our children is expendable?

In an article by the Huffington Post,  it was cited that Richard Dawkins, one of the world’s best known and outspoken atheists, said that he is unable to condemn  “mild pedophilia.” He feels that child abuse scandals have been overblown.

What has happened to our world? When a child’s life and well being is no longer considered a priority, we as a society are doomed to destruction at the hands of a failed morality.  When the sexual attack of a child is viewed as a non violent act then we as a society are doomed to destruction at the hands of a failed morality. When our society starts calling the rape of a child just sex, then we as a society are doomed to destruction at the hands of a failed morality. When the powers at be, decide to protect the rights of pedophiles by slowly but surely convincing the public that it is only a sexual orientation and therefore a natural act, then we as a society  are doomed to destruction at the hands of a failed morality. When the powers at be, decide that the sexual preferences of a minority of individuals supersedes the rights of the majority of Americans, then we as a society are doomed to destruction at the hands of  a failed morality.

Ravi Zacharias said it best when speaking of the progressive, modern man,

“He proclaims the gospel [bible], as the last hoorah of an antiquated outlook, to a generation who is intellectually unkept, morally unzipped and volitionally uncurbed. They reveal their sickness of soul by derogating terms like morality, piety, family, work, patriotism, born again, theology , evangelical and christianity. They dismiss [the bible] as middle class hedonism, declaring it intellectually inadmissible while meanwhile, they espouse a life that neither reason nor conscious nor spirit can support or condone……”

Will we allow this progressive movement to slowly indoctrinate our youth into believing that morality is no longer necessary because our personal feelings and sexual desires must be gratified regardless of the price paid by others? Isn’t it time for us to stop this madness?

Full Disclosure For All!

shutterstock_144659312

Our government has pushed food labeling to the extreme. Demanding that calories, fat, sugar and other ingredients be fully visible to the public in order for them to be able to make informed decisions about the food they eat. But what about informing the public about the news they receive on a daily basis? Does the public deserve the same transparency about their news sources that the government is now demanding from food manufacturers and restaurants?  After all, if how the public is informed  will affect the way this country is governed, shouldn’t the they be informed what political party a news anchor, reporter or station supports before they get their daily dose of political propaganda?

Have you ever wondered about the news anchor or the station that you watch on a daily basis? Do you know the political party of the owner of the news station you listen to on a daily basis? Do you ever wonder whether the political leanings of reporters actually affects the news they report? When a nightly news anchor choses the stories they report on a daily basis, do they choose them or alter them according to their political leanings? Does the public now receive the news in a completely unbiased format? We have all seen the political polarization that has intensified in this country over the last several years. Lines have been drawn between friends and family, relationships strained, friends lost and unfriended on Facebook over political opinions and leanings. But what about the very people who are supposed to inform us, without personal feelings, about the most important events happening around us on a daily basis?

Did you know that all journalists are required to follow a Code of Ethics? As part of these ethics, news anchors are supposed to  “distinguish between advocacy and news reporting,” while simultaneously “seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues.”  But, is this what they do today? Are you actually receiving a fair and comprehensive account of the news or are you receiving political propaganda and half-truths according to the political leanings of the station and reporter feeding you the news on a daily basis? Are they using the news as a platform to further the political agenda of the party they support?

The American people used to count on the press to act as a check and balance with our political leaders. To question motives, decisions, actions and ethics. Would President Nixon have resigned  because of Watergate had Bob Woodard and Carl Bernstein not investigated and exposed his illegal actions? Has it become obvious that this era of reporters and so-called journalists no longer honor their ethical responsibilities over their personal beliefs and views?

As we are now headed into a big election year, 2016 stands to be the most important election this country has seen in years. It is not only about which party will lead us the next four years, but which direction this country will be headed.  The Democratic and Republican parties have chosen polar opposite directions in which they believe the country should be headed. It is imperative that the public be fully and correctly informed about the platforms that each party supports. It is imperative that the public be fully and correctly informed about the actions the Democrats and Republicans have taken and will take in order to follow the platforms they support and further the agenda they have chosen to follow.  So should we, the people, be given full disclosure about the very people and stations that deliver the news?

George Stephanopoulos:  Host of Good Morning America and This Week with George Stephanopoulos. George is a Democrat, and served as communications director for Bill Clinton and later became his White House communications director.  It was recently discovered that he donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation all while he grilled Peter Schweitzer on his recent book, Clinton Cash, which casts a shadow of doubt on the source and use of  Clinton charity funds.

Christiane Amanpour: Anchor CNN. Christiane is a Democrat and is married to former US Assistant Secretary of State, James Rubin, a democrat and an informal adviser to Hilary Clinton, presidential candidate.

Chris Cuomo: Democrat and former host of Good Morning America, 20/20 and currently CNN’s morning show, “New Day.” Chris’s father, Mario Cuomo was the former Democratic Mayor of New York. His brother, Andrew Cuomo is the current Democratic New York Governor.

Brian Williams:  Anchor ABC and Democrat. He began his career as a White House intern under Jimmy Carter. Recently, he was suspended for 6 months due to fabricated news stories.

Savannah Gutherie: Co-anchor of the Today Show,  and co-anchor of the MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown,  Savannah is currently married to Democratic political and communications consultant, Michael Feldman.

Rachael Maddow: Anchor of the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. A 2011 Hollywood Reporter profile of Maddow said that she was able to deliver news “with agenda, but not hysteria.” A Newsweek profile noted, “At her best, Maddow debates ideological opponents with civility and persistence… But for all her eloquence, she can get so wound up ripping Republicans that she sounds like another smug cable partisan.”

Bill O’Reilly:  Anchor of the O’Reilly Factor on Fox News, a conservative station, is a registered “independent” yet a traditionalist. He is married to Maureen McPhilmy, a public relations representative.

Megyn Kelly:  Anchor of the Kelly File on Fox News considers herself to be a moderate and reasonable. She often speaks in ways that run counter to Fox’s image. She is married to Douglas Brunt, who is a full time writer and novelist.

Did you know?

  1. ABC News President, Ben Sherwood, is the brother of Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, a top national security adviser to President Obama.
  2. CNN’s deputy Washington Bureau chief, , is married to Tom Nides, who was deputy secretary of state under Hillary Clinton.
  3. Former White House press secretary, Jay Carney’s wife, Claire Shipman, is a veteran reporter for ABC, and currently is the senior national correspondent for Good Morning America.
  4. NPR’s White House correspondent, Ari Shapiro, is married to Michael Gottlieb, who is currently employed at the Obama White House counsel’s office.
  5. Michele Norris of NPR’s “All Things Considered,” is married to Broderick Johnson, who worked for Senator John Kerry’s presidential campaign and then moved on as an unpaid adviser to Obama’s campaign in 2008, and full-time advisor in 2011.
  6. The Post’s Justice Department reporter, Sari Horwitz, is married to William Schultz, the general counsel of the Department of Human Services under the Obama Administration.
  7. David Rhodes, CBS news division president is the brother of Benjamin Rhodes, a key foreign policy specialist under Obama. Both David and Benjamin also work at the NSC on foreign policy issues directly related to Benghazi.

Let’s go even further and disclose that only six corporations own and control the majority of mass media outlets in the United States.

  1. Disney
  2. CBS Corporation
  3. News Corporation
  4. Viacom
  5. Time Warner
  6. Comcast

So what happens when a news story involves bad publicity for one of these companies, or goes against the political agenda they are pushing? Could the story be shut down or underplayed in the media? The Telecommunication Act of 1996, signed into effect by then President Bill Clinton, enabled this handful of corporations to expand their power and enabled tighter control of information. Chris Hedges argues that corporate media control “of nearly everything we read, watch or hear,” is an aspect of what political philosopher Sheldon Wolin calls inverted totalitarianism. This is defined as a situation “where every natural resource and every living being is commoditized ad exploited to collapse as the citizenry is lulled and manipulated into surrendering their liberties and their participation in government through excess consumerism and sensationalism.”

As the sources for all our news gets smaller and smaller, and the majority seemingly controlled by one political faction, it is time to demand full disclosure before every news cast so the public is truly informed who is spoon-feeding them their news for the day.
